On Oct. 16 and 19 two women were assaulted while walking dogs in Laramie.
Both attacks took place at 9 p.m. The first took place on the 2100 block of Binford Street, and the second on the 2900 block of Garfield.
The first suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall white mall wearing a black hoodie and black athletic pants. According to a release from the Laramie Police Department, the suspect in the second attack was described as a 5 ft. 7 in. tall Hispanic man who was also wearing a black hoodie.
On Wednesday afternoon, a mass email was sent out to UW students about the University of Wyoming Police Department looking for a suspicious male near a residence on Kearny Street.
Around 11 p.m., Tuesday, local law enforcement took a report of this instance. The suspect was confronted and immediately left the scene. The man was last seen headed north of McIntyre Hall.
The suspect was described as being similar to the men in the week’s earlier attacks as a white male, about 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, short dark hair, wearing a black hoodie with the hood up and light blue jeans.
While it is still unclear if Tuesday night’s suspect is related to the Oct. 16 and 19 attacks, the description is very similar to the suspect of the previous attacks.
“We’ve had a number of reports and there are a lot of people that have dark hoodies out there, and so we’ve been following up on each one of them to see if they have something and we have not yet made any type of connection that lead us to believe that the reports we’ve received were the same ones involved in the attacks,” Laramie Police Department Commander Mitchell Cushman said.
Any information concerning the identity of the suspects in these attacks should be directed to UW Police at 307-766-5179 or the Laramie Police Department at 307-721-2526.
