As everyone gathers around the TV this weekend to celebrate Super Bowl XLVII by eating, drinking and spending time with friends and family, everyone wonders one thing: who will be this year’s Super Bowl Champions? The Ravens or the 49ers?
“I think the 49ers have the Super Bowl in their pocket,” engineering student Chris Nowland said. “They not only have a great defense but they also have an incredible offensive line and an awesome quarterback.”
“The Ravens definitely have it this year,” pharmacy student Cameron Williams said. “They have more postseason experience than the 49ers and have more to play for with Ray Lewis Retiring and Ed Reeds contract expiring after this year.”
“The 49’ers will win, no question,” said physiology student Jesse Green. “They have Kaepernic, Crabtree, Davis, Moss, Gore who are all powerful offensively. The Ravens have a tough defense but not as tough as the 49ers. Once again, they have Patrick Willis who is arguably one of the best in the game right now along with six pro-bowl players in their defense.”
“The Ravens lack a strong running game and the 49ers will shut Ray Rice down leaving them only strong at the passing game,” said history student Jerad Jenkins. “Joe Flacco throws basically only bombs down field but the 49ers will change their defense style to cover that specifically.”
“Ravens all the way,” said student Tyler Brickell. “Their defense is too good and Ray Lewis is a robot.”
“49ers hands down,” said communications student Brian Holden. “They have a better QB and Flacco for the Ravens is known for choking under pressure.”
“I’m not a fan of either team,” said engineering student Riley Zampedri. “If I had to pick a team I’d probably run with the 49ers just because statistically speaking they’re probably the better rounded team.”
Both teams have a good chance of taking home the title. As the clock strikes 6 p.m. EST, football fans will have approximately 30 minutes to warm up their finger food, put their beers on ice and park themselves in their living rooms to watch the most anticipated football match up of the year.
