Cowboy Joe, the beloved mascot of the University of Wyoming boosts the spirits of Cowgirl basketball supporters.

At the beginning of the month the Cowboy Joe Club launched its 13th Annual Online Auction. The auction’s proceeds go toward academic scholarships and educational resources for over 350 Wyoming student-athletes.

“Although our fall auction tends to bring in a lot more money, this online auction is a great way our club raises money to promote our program and helps fund athletes and the many athletic divisions at UW,” Adam Waddell, a former Cowboy basketball player and new representative at the Cowboy Joe Club, said.

There are many items being offered during this year’s action including sideline passes for the Cowboy’s football 2013 season, court-side tickets for Cowboy and Cowgirl 2013-14 basketball season, assorted collegiate and pro memorabilia, tickets for other numerous Poke competitions, entertainment and dining packages, authentic team gear, Wyoming apparel, and sport camps/clinic opportunities.

The auction has seen a lot of success throughout the years. With items catered to Wyoming fans and its setup online as a user-friendly auction, it is one of the more successful fund-raising events the Cowboy Joe Club hosts.

“Generally this fund-raiser brings in around $40,000 to $50,000 each year,” Waddell said. “The live auction brings in more profit but this online auction is fun to host and is also a great way to get more contribution for the different athletic expenses.”

A complete listing for all items offered in the auction can be found at www.gowyo.com. Those interested in the auction can click the “Shop” menu item listed in the top right-hand corner of the site followed by clicking “Auctions”. From there fans can register and begin bidding for the various goods offered for the 2013-14 athletic season.
