I have no tolerance for bullies. I view them as somewhat less than human due to the fact that they take it upon themselves to intimidate, humiliate, and traumatize others. It is unnecessary and unacceptable. In the last few weeks I have seen more bullying than a person would expect on a college campus. You know what the sad thing is? Not all of the offenders were students; some were people we are supposed to look up to such as advisors, teachers and educators.
At this point I suppose I should clarify that by bullying I don’t mean just physical intimidation. I am referring to bullying of all kinds: physical of course, but also mental.
I don’t know why people feel they are free to bully with no consequences. I know that for some, there are in fact no outright consequences. When it is a person in a position of power who does it, I’m pretty sure they feel untouchable. And to be honest, there isn’t a lot that those under them can do in the University system.
All too frequently such complaints are passed off as a student whining or discriminating against that person due to personal issues.
Well you know what? They’re damn right I have a personal issue with that person. I think they are a sorry excuse for a human being and I avoid them like the Bubonic plague while hoping that they get the very same plague.
When I see someone put another person down just to unnecessarily demonstrate they are in control and have more power I fervently desire to see karma bitch slap them in the face hard. When I see someone put another person down simply to make themselves feel smarter I have the distinct urge to hurt the offender.
Since this would send me to jail – let’s face it, bullies whine the loudest when their karma does catch up with them – I go to my MMA class and superimpose the offender’s face on a punching bag and have at them.
On the other side of this, seeing a bully in action makes you think about your actions a bit more. Is there anything you do that is bullying others? Should karma bitch slap you? Does someone superimpose your face on a punching bag and go to town?
No? Then you’re an awesome and fantastic person.
Maybe? Then think about what you do.
Yes? Then don’t be surprised when people seem unsympathetic to karma being a bitch.
