Interview Attire for Men
• Conservative necktie pattern, end mid-belt. A tie with a conservative pattern is best as it is less distracting than a busier tie.
• Dark shoes (black best)- Wearing black shoes, such as oxfords or derbys, give a professional, polished look to your ensemble. Do not wear loafers as they are too casual.
• Dark socks with matching color belt (black best).
• Short hair preferred.
• Beards and mustaches should be neat and trimmed.
• Only college or wedding rings; do not wear other rings.
• No earrings, take them out if you have them.
Interview Attire for Women
• Knee-length skirts.
• Low-heeled shoes (no high heels or flats). Low heels give a professional look to your interview ensemble. Flats may be considered too casual, while high heels may not be conservative enough.
• Sensible, skin toned hosiery.
• No more than one ring on each hand.
• One set of non-dangle earrings is appropriate. Wearing simple jewelry can add a touch of character to your outfit without overpowering it.
• Minimal makeup.
• Clear or conservative nail polish (though not required).
• Pull long hair back with clasp at neck.
• No purse; instead use briefcase or portfolio.
