To the UW Crushes Admins,
I liked your page, I really did. It was entertaining, plus it was a great time killer. However, after a post I read last night, I’m absolutely shocked that you crossed the line you said would never be crossed. Rape is a serious issue. I don’t respect men (or so-called men) who think or do such actions. It’s even more appalling when a student who represents an institution that I’m proud to say I attend says such action on your page. Yes, it’s possible that you DIDN’T READ this post because there are SO MANY to go through. But guess who did read it? The woman herself, her husband, all of her friends, I’m sure her family did and over 2,700 other people who like your page. This woman (whom I never met personally) did nothing to deserve that kind of attention.
You can apologize all you want, but that won’t ever take away the fact that a woman was threatened to get hatef***** on your page. After reading this woman’s blog and reading the replies you left her, I want to be clear on something. When a person says “I want to hatef***** you” to a woman, chances are that woman isn’t “good” like you suggested after claiming the threat did not sound serious. We’re men (or at least you claim to be), and rape isn’t a game or a joke. When we see something like this it needs to be stopped NO MATTER WHAT! You failed to do so. I hope with a full heart and clear conscious you make things right.
