Wyoming men’s basketball head coach Larry Shyatt was out sick for last night’s game against the Air Force Falcons. According to a story posted on trib.com, Shyatt still travelled with the team to Colorado Springs, Colo. but decided it was not in the team’s best interest for him to coach while sick.
Assistant coach Allen Edwards served as the interim coach in Shyatt’s absence. Edwards was in charge of scouting and game plan development going into last night’s matchup.
Shyatt has seldom missed games throughout his career, making his non-appearance last night mildly conspicuous.
According to the story on trib.com, Shyatt plans to rejoin the team for practice on Thursday in Laramie as they prepare for their coming home game against Nevada on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium.
