A Loaf ‘N’ Jug gas station on Third Street was robbed last Wednesday, and the suspect is still at large according to the Laramie Police Department. LPD reported the suspect to be a white male around 5-foot-8-inches, wearing jeans and a green hoodie; he also covered his face with a white bandanna.
The man was armed with a large knife and demanded money from the clerk.
Police immediately arrived at the scene, but the suspect was able to get away. Laramie Police Department Commander Mitch Cushman said police are hoping to receive the public’s help with information on the suspect.
“We arrived on scene in less than one minute from the report, however the suspect is still at large,” Cushman said. “We are hoping that the public can help us with information that may lead to identifying the suspect. We are still investigating. We have no further information at this time.”
According to the Laramie police report, aggravated robbery is a felony punishable by imprisonment for a minimum of five years and a maximum 25 years if the suspect “uses or exhibits a deadly weapon or a simulated deadly weapon.”
Laramie has dealt with other attempted robberies in the past few years, one taking place less than a year ago at the US Bank, only a few blocks away from Loaf ‘N’ Jug. According to the police report, the incident involved a handgun and while the suspect did get away, he did not successfully steal any money.
In August of this year, Terrance James and Kevin Lewis robbed the Fairfield Inn of $245. James is now serving 5 to 10 years of incarceration, as he participated in four other similar crimes.
Anyone with knowledge about the suspect or crime committed can call Detective Sgt. Robert Terry at 721-3563 or Crime Stoppers at 742-2273. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered to anyone with information leading to an arrest in this case.
When questioned, Loaf ‘N’ Jug management was not able to comment on the incident.
