To Freeze or Not To Freeze

When a female turns the page and finds the next chapter of her book titled, “Finding Mr. Right” this may add pressure and stress. The question may start out with, ‘when will I find Mr. Right?’ and may turn into ‘will I find him in time to be a mother? Pressure of the biological clock can add a great amount of stress on an already socially stressful situation.

Maybe you have found Mr. Right, but you have so much going at this point, school, athletics and a great new job. With all of these events there is not even time to think about kids, let alone producing them.

Either way, doing some research in the latest technology of freezing eggs for fertilization, could be worth your while. Eggs are frozen, by being taken out of a woman’s uterus. Doctors then put a type of antifreeze into the lining of the cell and it is then frozen for up to 10 years.  It all boils down to this simple fact: with recent advances in cryopreservation, women at a young age could potentially be their own egg donors later in life.

Egg freezing is a fabulous idea for all women who are planning on having children sometime in their life. It gives every woman a higher percentage of having a successful live child-birth.

On the reverse side, I’ve read so many articles along the lines of “if God wanted me to have a child he would have put the child in me!”

I am sorry, ladies, but sometimes that’s just not the case. Sometimes life gets in the way. School gets put off for a year and some freak car accident happens leaving you infertile in your early 20’s. This would be devastating news to tell your future husband. You simply never know what might happen.

After a bit more research on this topic you might find that egg freezing is something you would want to do, therefore you look at the price. This procedure runs anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000! This is a lot of money to think about spending on something your body can do. This may be a major setback, but ladies let’s think about our goals. If I wanted children bad enough I would go to any expense to make sure I could have healthy and strong babies.

Well women, what extremes would you go to in order to have it all?
