Hit Songs for 69 Cents:
One of the two great money-saving sections hidden in the seemingly infinite categories of the iTunes Store is Hit Songs for 69 Cents. The category features a number of popular songs, split up by decade and genre. Currently, the selection includes songs like Foo Fighters’ “Everlong” and Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful,” among many others from artists such as Weezer, Justin Timberlake, Ke$ha and more, all on sale for less than $1 each.
Free on iTunes:
If 69 Cents still seems like too high a price, the iTunes Store still has something for you. The Free on iTunes section lists every book and TV show that is currently available for free through iTunes. It also lists popular free apps and movie podcasts, as well as the current single of the week. Right now, the section features things like the pilot episode of new the NBC show “State of Affairs,” as well as the first issue of the “Avengers: Disassembled” comic.
Humble Bundle:
While charity can sometimes be hard for those on a budget, that isn’t always the case. Thanks to Humble Bundle, shoppers can name any price over $1 for a selection of video games or books. They also have the option to pay more than the average customer donation for a few extra games or books. Profits from the sale of each bundle are split up between the game developers, the Humble Bundle company and a charity. Customers are even given the option to decide how much of their payment will be given to each party. Current bundles include a Sega bundle worth $173 and pinball bundle worth $47.
