A Cheyenne man collapsed in the west exit of the UW Union and was rushed to the hospital by paramedics around 4:35 p.m. during Friday’s Holiday Market.
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) administered CPR and used a defibrillator on the man for around five minutes before loading him into an ambulance.
“I don’t have anything to say about the incident at this time,” Officer Anderson of the Laramie Police Department, the responding officer at the scene, said. “It was the result of a health issue and he’s been taken to the hospital.”
The Laramie Police Department was unavailable for additional comment. Ivinson Memorial Hospital neither confirmed, nor denied the arrival of the man at IMH and would not comment on his current status.
Members of the Union’s staff directed Holiday Market attendees and students to other exits during and after the incident.
Kim Zafft, associate director of the Union, declined to comment on the incident.
Currently the condition of the man is unknown.
