I am about as bland as a man can be when it comes to my weekends in Laramie.
Coming from Denver originally, I have found that when friends from small towns tell me about the great Laramie “night-life” I should probably look for events elsewhere. Just because there is a bowling alley and a movie theater in town does not mean there are unlimited events to attend. Most weekends end with me punching the air like Tre from Boyz in the Hood out of pure boredom.
Friday and Saturday nights usually entail me going to some friends’ house and us talking about going out and actually interacting with others. We pump ourselves up to go out and experience a night in a small college town. Then we make the same fatal error every damn time. NBA 2K14 is put into my friends’ Xbox and the rest of our night is shot. Somebody beats one guy and then revenge needs to be exacted. Someone gets dunked on in the game, and they need to play one more game to get their own all-star dunk. One thing leads to another and all of a sudden it is 3 a.m. Woo-hoo! I beat you down in 2K and talked to exactly zero new people. I’ll just go pass out in this corner here.
Not all weekends need to be glamorous, otherwise the really special nights would never stick out. Until I find that special weekend, Steph Curry dropping 55 points every time I take over will do just fine. Have a happy weekend Cowpokes!
