The Peking Chinese Restaurant, at 1665 North Third Street, was burglarized Wednesday at approximately 1 p.m.
The Laramie Police Department declined to comment on the incident, as did the owners of Peking Chinese Restaurant.
Uniform Crime Reporting, a program under the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, defines burglary as “the unlawful entry of a structure to commit a felony or a theft.”
Wyoming burglaries decreased from 2,061 in 2012 to 1,895 in 2013 and the total value of property stolen in these two years also declined, from $3,207,873 to $2,378,069, according to the most recent statistics released by Uniform Crime Reporting,
A high profile business burglary or robbery occurred in each of the last three semesters in Laramie. An armed perpetrator robbed US Bank on Third Street last January, and a man wielding a knife robbed Loaf ‘N Jug on Third Street last October.
