Drayvon Christopher Roark was convicted on one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, according to court documents.
Roark, was in the rear passenger seat of a car traveling east on I-80 that was pulled over for a cracked windshield. Upon approaching the vehicle and speaking with the driver, Bernard Dugans, the arresting officer, smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, according to court documents.
The officer noticed a suspicious black plastic resting under Roark’s arm. After some questioning, Roark told the officer that the other two occupants of the vehicle had been smoking marijuana., The officer then deployed his drug detection dog, Wendy, according to court documents.
Wendy, detected drugs in the vehicle and upon a search of the vehicle the officer found, 631 grams of marijuana in plant form, 25.3 grams of hashish, one .25 caliber semiautomatic pistol, one scale with suspected marijuana residue on it and one box of sandwich baggies, in the black trash bag located under Roark’s arm.
From a compartment in the back of the vehicle small sandwich baggies with 631 grams of marijuana in them were discovered. Police also discovered a second .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol in a compartment between the two front seats, to court documents.
In total 45 ounces of marijuana were found in the car. Roark claimed ten ounces of the marijuana in the vehicle belonged to him, according to court documents.
Gerald Grant, was convicted of four separate felony charges of possession, of various marijuana products.
Grant was traveling with Souchunya Xayvog when he was pulled over on highway 287 northbound, for speeding. Grant was traveling at 45 mph in a 35 mph zone. The officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, according to court documents.
The officer then conducted a of Grants person. The officer found three recent receipts from Colorado dispensaries in Grant’s pocket. When asked, Grant stated that the marijuana belonged to him and Xayvog, according to court documents.
Upon searching the vehicle, police discovered a red duffle bag full of marijuana in various packaging. 60 separate packages from Colorado dispensaries weighing about 13 pounds with packaging, a black pill bottle containing two MDMA (commonly refered to as ecstasy) pills, two digital scales, $568.79 in cash, four glass pipes with marijuana residue, 14 grams of liquid THC and two bottles of THC pills, according to court documents.
Donna A. Perez and her adult daughter, Esther Gains, were found guilty of altering a check and convicted of check forgery.
The check was written to Perez by a local church for a sum of $100. Perez then altered the 100 into a 400 by making the one appear to be a four, then altering the written word “one” to appear as a “four.” Perez and Gains discussed their plan to alter the check prior to doing so, according to court documents.
