Three Cowgirl golfers finished in the top 30 overall to help lead the Pokes to an eighth place finish at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at AK-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona on April 7.
Sophomore Megan Knadler recorded her second top 15 finish of the season by finishing tied for 13th, while freshman Erin Sargent tied for 24th and senior Mackenzie Barrie tied for 29th.
After recording a 72 (E) and 76 (+4) on day one of the two-day tournament, Knadler fired a 74 (+2) including five birdies on day two. It was Knadler’s second top 20 finish in two years at the tournament after finishing tied for 20th last year.
“I want to thank the entire staff from AK-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club for their tremendous hospitality and championship event,” Cowgirl head coach Josey Stender said. “The team battled hard today and we were just a few putts short of where we hoped to finish.”
Barrie shot the best round of any Cowgirl on day two by recording a 73 (+1). She finished with a three round total of 226 (+10), while Sargent shot a 78 (+6) on the final day to finish 225 (+9) for the tournament.

Junior Klara Castillo finished in a tie for 87th by recording a 242 (+26) for the tournament, while sophomore Amanda Hinchey finished 98th with a score of 257 (+41).
