Laramie has an array of restaurants that you can pick and choose from, something that you don’t see too often in small towns.
Yes, it is a college town so that is one of the main reasons why Laramie has such a wide variety of restaurants. For being such a little college town, there isn’t one thing that disappoints me in the restaurants in this town.
Laramie has showcased a different variety when it comes to its restaurants such as Mexican, little mini sports bars, Chinese, as well as Thai food.
It has its typical American restaurants such as Applebee’s and Chili’s, but then it has its small business owned restaurants that you can’t go wrong with.
I will first start with personally one of my favorite restaurants in Laramie and that is Born in a Barn. Born in a Barn has absolutely amazing wings, as well as burgers. The best part about this place is the deal they have on wings on Monday nights. What college student doesn’t like deals on food? They have 60-cent wings every Monday night, with a wide variety of flavors to choose from. In my opinion, their best flavor being sparkys.
Next, Laramie has a little fancier restaurant called Altitudes Chophouse & Brewery. If you’re looking for some place with a little more quiet vibe with nice lighting and seating, this is the place to go. This restaurant is a little more expensive than the rest around Laramie (so the only time I go is when my parents come to town). But they have delicious food and a very nice atmosphere. My favorite thing to get there is their steak and garlic mashed potatoes, you can’t go wrong with those two things.
If you are looking for more of a sports bar type atmosphere, The Library (not the book library) is the place to go. The restaurant has TV’s all around the walls, which always have sporting events on, and has that fan-filled atmosphere to it. They have a bar that is connected to the restaurant so if you’re wanting to post up at the bar for a few hours and watch some games, it is a great bar to go to. The food here is amazing, just like at the other restaurants. If you’re looking for great and filling appetizers, this is the place to go. They have a great selection of pizzas as well, which are very good.
Roxie’s is another great restaurant that the city of Laramie has. This has somewhat of a sports bar atmosphere but just a little different. They have a bar and then a restaurant portion and they are pretty much exactly cut in half in size. This place also has a cool little upstairs sitting area if you are eating with a bigger party. The food here is pretty good as well, but in my opinion, not as good as the other three restaurants I have named. The food that I like most at Roxie’s definitely has to be their pizza. They have an assortment of kinds and I don’t think you can go wrong with their pizza.
Another place that you can’t go wrong with eating at is called Crowbar & Grill. This restaurant is a little smaller in size so if you’re going with a bigger group it might be a little harder to get into, but they accommodate pretty well. This place also has amazing pizza, just like some of the other places. They also have this food called Thai fries (if you ever come to this restaurant, make sure to get these). They’re absolutely amazing. You also can’t go wrong with the burgers at Crowbar.
These are just a few of the great restaurants to choose from in the city of Laramie. Being a college kid in this town there isn’t a ton to do so we are pretty lucky with the amount of restaurants we have to choose from and how good they really are.
