Gryphon Theater to host comedian Kathleen Madigan

Highly accredited comedian Kathleen Madigan will be performing at the Gryphon Theatre off East Garfield Street Saturday, Oct.14.

Madigan has been performing for 29 years and has appeared on most of the standup television shows ever created. She is originally from St. Louis, Missouri and presently divides her time between her tours and living in Los Angeles and Missouri.

Madigan has been nominated for many awards including an American Comedy award for best concert comic and iTunes best comedy albums.

Madigan has appeared in several Netflix specials, three Comedy Central specials, two HBO specials, four CMT salute to the troops specials with Ron White and has also been on ShowTime on several occasions.

She has also won the American Comedy Award for “Best Female Comedian” and also the Phyllis Diller award for “Best Female Comedian.” Madigan has also won “Funniest Female Stand-Up Comic” at the American Comedy Awards.

Madigan has traveled to Iraq and Afghanistan to perform for the troops. She has also done two USO tours with several colleagues including Robin Williams, Lewis Black and John Bowman. Madigan enjoys doing these tours especially because it gives back to the troops that give so much to the people of this country.

“There’s no better show on earth than a show for the troops. Trust me, no crowd is as happy to see a show as 1,000 soldiers in Kabul,” Madigan said in her biography. “I do USO shows at home here in the US too, but the further people are away, the more they appreciate it. I don’t think they get paid enough for a hard job so I like to do something for free when I can.”

Madigan performs internationally at theaters and various festivals. She has performed at 6 of the Montreal Gala Shows at the Montreal Comedy Festival for Canadian television.

Countries Madigan has performed in are Ireland, Hong Kong, England, Australia, and Canada.

Madigan is acclaimed as one of the greatest comedians of all time for her astounding accomplishments and lengthy, extremely successful, career.

Madigan continues to go on tour and create new specials. Her most current special, “Bothering Jesus,” is streaming on Netflix and has reached great success.

Madigan also raises awareness and fundraises for both cystic fibrosis and autism.

Madigan is currently performing her tour “Bothering Jesus” and will be in Laramie Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Gryphon Theatre. The show will begin at 7 p.m.
