Wyoming Head Football Coach Craig Bohl met with members of the media in the Rochelle Athletic Center leading up to their game with Boise State on September 29 in Laramie.
In his opening comments Bohl updated the status of some of the injured players from the previous weeks. Running backs Nico Evans and Jevon Bigelow will be returning to the lineup along with senior tight end Austin Fort. Center Patrick Arnold and linebacker Tyler Hall are both listed as hopeful to return this week. Hall was listed as the starter on the depth chart and Arnold was listed at the second string position. Cornerback C.J. Coldon was said to be doubtful to return this week.
Wyoming was able to regain personnel and health thanks to the bye week. Wyoming also spent time working on fundamentals during the week.
Bohl said he was excited to be opening conference play at home and feels that the team feeds off of the energy that the home crowd provides.
Wyoming will need that energy as Boise State was a preseason favorite to win the conference and has proved once again that they will be a very good team.
Boise State Quarterback Brett Rypien has been their starter for all four years of his career. Bohl knows that he is a very good quarterback that has been running their offense very efficiently and has been placing the football in the ideal spots when throwing.
The defense for Boise State has been very solid this year also and Wyoming will need to move the ball if they want to win. Bohl was hopeful that this could happen with the return of the offensive starts Evans, Bigelow and Fort.
During this press conference Bohl also spoke on the mentality of the team. When first arriving at Wyoming the hope was to compete with Boise State but now the team believes that it is a winnable game and the team expects it from them.
Right now the team if feeling healthy and confident coming off of the by week. The team has seen improvement from young players such as Tyler Vander Waal being able to lead the game winning drive against Wofford.
