Tomorrow the UW Fashion Club will be hosting their annual Kaleidoscope fashion show in the Wyoming Union.
For the last six years, the Fashion Club has been putting on this show in order to showcase the talent found throughout campus, whether it be from an art or business major. Moreover, the Fashion Club uses this show as an opportunity to put on a fashion show for the greater campus and Laramie community to be involved.
“The Kaleidoscope fashion show is an opportunity for students at the university and community members to showcase their design skills,” said Fashion Club Historian and Show Productions committee member Amelia Stepanek, “and to get experience and exposure in the field of design.”
This event is important to the Fashion club and the design merchandising and textiles department because it offers exposure for students in the program and gives others a chance to attend an “out of the box” event.
According to Stepanek not a lot of people are aware of the design program at UW. The fashion show not only allows for showcasing items but benefits one non-profit organization on campus each year with their proceeds.
“This year, we have chosen the Veterans Association at UW,” Stepanek. “They provide lots of support for the Veterans on campus and we believe that giving back to our campus should always be included in our event.”
The show starts at 7 p.m. and is free to the public. There will also be food available. If you bring a non-perishable food item to donate the Veterans Association at UW you will be entered to win a pair of Apple AirPods.
