To kick off the week of Homecoming, University of Wyoming students went out into the community on Oct. 12 and helped with community service around the city.
This year was the 7th annual BIG Event run by the University’s Service, Leadership and Community Engagement program (SLCE). Shelby Kennedy from the SLCE program said this year over 600 students and faculty from the University participated in over 130 community service jobs around Laramie.
These jobs ranged from working in the Laramie community, to working with Non-Profit organizations and working with businesses who wanted to clean up the community, Kennedy said. Some of the students volunteering on Oct. 12 included the University of Wyoming fraternities and sororities.
