Virtual Town Hall tonight for UW students

The University of Wyoming is hosting a virtual town hall for its students to learn more about the return to campus plan and how the fall semester will go. The meeting starts at 5:30 pm MTN time on WyoCast.

The presentation will start with a welcome from President Seidel including a talk on how the university is working to have a successful semester. Other topics spoken on will include how classes will be conducted, the student experiences such as dining and residence halls, financial aid and much more.

Director of Institutional Communications Chad Baldwin goes into more detail on the topics saying they will also speak on the required testing for COVID-19 not only before the semester begins but also during the semester. The COVID Pass app will be spoken on along with required COVID-19 training and expectations for all students and employees. The exceptions to these expectations will be spoken on as well and resources will be shared to help everyone through this changing time.

“These are all important topics, but I think students might benefit most from hearing about what the semester will be like from a student life perspective,” said Baldwin

The president of the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming (ASUW) Riley Talamantes will speak during the meeting to give the “student life perspective.”

“She has a good grasp of the issues and wants to make sure students have all of the information they need for a successful semester,” said Baldwin.

Baldwin said he does not expect any new information to be shared during this meeting with the public but that this will serve as an opportunity for the students and concerned parents to hear directly from those working on the fall plan. Furthermore, this is a time for them to ask questions. Instructions to submit questions can be found here

“There are many moving parts to our plan for the fall semester, requiring new and different approaches for just about everyone associated with UW,” said President Seidel in a recent UW press release on the meeting. “We hope this virtual town hall will help bring more clarity for our students and their families as the semester approaches, and allow for questions to be answered in a manner that will provide broad guidance and important details.”
