The University of Wyoming men’s golf team teed off their fall 2022 season with the three day Air Force Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational from Friday, Sep. 9 – Sunday, Sep. 11, with Senior Tyler Severin finishing in the top ten.
During the opening round on Friday, the Cowboys tied with Wofford for 13th out of 24 different collegiate teams, the number of strokes being 295, with added pars.
Senior Tyler Severin, and sophomore Jaren Calkins each golfed a 72 par, tying them for 22nd place out of the 120 golfers in attendance. They were the top ranking Wyoming players that day.
On Saturday the Cowboys moved down in the team rankings to 17 out of 24 with 585 being their total strokes thus far.
During Saturday’s game, Senior Kirby Coe-Kirkman moved up 19 spots in the individual ranking, landing him the 25th spot out of 120. This also made him the highest ranking Wyoming player of the day, with Severin in 32nd and Calkins in 66th.
Sunday was the last day of the Air Force Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, and the University of Wyoming men’s golf team ended up placing 16th out of 24, their total strokes for the weekend being 887.
Tyler Severin was Wyoming’s highest ranking player, ending the tournament in 9th place.
Wyoming’s other top finishers were: Kirman who tied for 36th place, Calkins ended tied for 71st, sophomore Kristof Panke tied for 83rd and junior Jimmy Dales tied for 116th.
