The Cowboys faced off with the Utah State Aggies in their long awaited homecoming matchup. With a very impressive outing, Titus Swen was named the Mountain West offensive player of the week, his first time earning the honor.
Swen had an extremely impressive performance, rushing for 160 yards on 28 carries. He got into the endzone three times as well, accounting for 20 of the Cowboys 28 points.
He has been an absolute cornerstone to the Cowboy offense, and continues to be great week in and week out.
As shocking as it is, this is not Swen’s first game this season with three touchdowns. He accomplished this in the game against UNC earlier in the season, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
“I saw a real focus, not that he hasn’t been focused but he’s really determined,” Coach Bohl said during the post-game presser. “I was convinced he was gonna have a breakout game, and he certainly did.”
Bohl spoke with Swen one on one before the game, and it was known that he would have his best game of the season.
“We just (have) been practicing for two weeks, we came in here ready to set things off and that’s what we did,” Swen said.
Especially after a loss not only on the field but in his family, Swen had a lot of motivation going into the game.
“I had suffered two losses in the family, so it was just a testament game. I had to put it all out there and that’s what I did today.”
The Cowboys will take a trip to the tropical islands of Hawaii to take on the Rainbow Warriors, on October 29. Swen looks to replicate his performance on homecoming, and add a win to the Pokes’ total.
