The Cowboys look towards their last three games, and have qualified for a bowl game in December. They can also play in the Mountain West championship game if all goes well.
With their record of 6-3, and 4-1 in the conference, they are second to Boise State in the Mountain division. The Boise State Broncos are 5-0 inside the conference, and with their upcoming matchup on Nov. 19 at War Memorial Stadium against the Pokes, that could change.
If in the meantime, the Cowboys beat Colorado State and the Broncos beat Nevada, they will be competing for the lead of the division.
The leader of the Mountain division will compete for the Mountain West title, and only one of these teams will be able to play for that championship.
The Mountain West championship game will be played in Laramie if the Cowboys beat out Boise State, and have a better record than their opponent from the West division.
This home stretch of the season could result in the Cowboys winning their first Mountain West Championship of all time. In addition to the Mountain West Championship, the Cowboys are bowl game eligible.
The LA Bowl would be the ultimate goal for the Cowboys, as it is a matchup between the Mountain West champions, and the fifth place team in the Pac-12.
The Pokes will begin their first of the last three games in Fort Collins against the Rams on Nov. 12. They will look to keep their momentum going, and pick up yet another win against their rivals.
