Cowgirl soccer notched an impressive victory over the South Dakota Coyotes at the Madrid Sports Complex this Sunday.
Not only did the team celebrate a lopsided 4-0 victory, they did so in honor of their seniors. Those seniors on the roster this season include Jazi Barela, Alyssa Berdard, Taylor Brook, Maddi Chance, Gabby Clutter, Kylee Holstad and Eliza Grace-Smith.
This one-sided affair marks the largest margin of victory the Cowgirls have recorded this season, as the Cowgirls have looked much improved compared to their early woes, winning twice and tying once in their most recent three game stretch.
While the occasion called for celebration of the Cowgirls’ seniors, it was the youth that stepped up big for the Cowgirls in this one. Each goal scored in the game was done by a freshman or sophomore on the Cowgirl roster.
The Cowgirls will look to continue their proficient play when Oregon State comes to town on September 19. The Beavers have had their fair share of struggles as well, as they’ve started the season 1-6 and lost 3-0 to Montana, who the Cowgirls tied just last week.
That game is slated to kick off at 4 p.m. inside the Madrid Sports Complex and will be the last game of the Cowgirls’ non-conference schedule.
