Returning to perform during the Summer Concert Series for the second year in a row, Rob Drabkin will performed a free show from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, in Simpson Plaza at the University of Wyoming.

A Denver native, Rob scored his first electric guitar when he was eleven years old and thus sparked his passion for music. Although attending college for biochemistry and molecular biology, after a trip to New York to visit his father’s old jazz friends, Rob says he was inspired to make a drastic career change and pursue music full time.

Heavily inspired by jazz music, Rob has achieved some major musical accomplishments, including performing for a sold out crowd at Film on Red Rocks. He was also voted Colorado’s Best Singer/Songwriter by Westword Magazine 2008-2010.

“I’m pretty sure no other performer at the festival had more hair on his head than Rob Drabkin.

The afro-headed acoustic guitar player cuts a memorable image to people who see him perform for the first time. He busted out his trademark flip flop rock tunes to an adoring crowd. In fact, after the third song, Rob and his band were pulling in inquisitive newbies like a moth to a flame.” Said a Westword Magazine, Mile High Music Festival Review on the singer’s website.
