Three University of Wyoming women’s volleyball players were chosen for the Mountain West All- Conference Women’s Volleyball team.
The nine coaches of the MW Women’s volleyball teams selected the team. Senior outside hitter Jodi Purdy, sophomore middle blocker Erin Kirby and junior libero Becky Stewart will be joining the team.
This will be Purdy’s third consecutive time on the MW All-Conference team. This also is Kirby’s second consecutive time, and Stewart’s first time.
CSU’s outside hitter and MW volleyball player Dana Cranston also received top honors. Cranston was named the MW player of the year.
The freshman of the year was UNLV setter Kinsey Caldwell, and newcomer of the year was San Diego State outside hitter Michelle Waber.
San Diego State’s Deitre Collins-Parker was named coach of the year. San Diego State ended its regular season with a record of 13-3. It was co-champions of the MW conference along with CSU.
Wyoming ended its regular season with a record of 8-8. It was fifth in the standings of the MW conference after SDSU, CSU, UNLV and Fresno State.
Purdy has been named to the All-Conference team for the third year in a row, but she also was named freshman of the year during her freshman year. She was fifth in the conference in kills, with an average of 3.44. She also was third in both service aces and points. Her average for service aces was .28, and was 4.21 for her points.
Kirby redshirted her freshman year, but played last season. She has been hitting in the middle blocker position. She is sixth in hitting percentage with a .323 and is first in blocks with an average of 1.77 in the conference.
Stewart started her career in 2010 and this was her first year named to the All-Conference team. She was first in digs in the conference with an average of 4.62.
