The Center for Advising and Career Services is a place for students to explore careers, figure out majors and receive academic advising if undeclared.
The Career Services Center also helps students who are approaching their final years at the university and looking for jobs.
Aside from assisting students in advising, Career Services helps students and alumni find jobs or internships. The center also works with employers who are looking to hire UW students.
According to the Career Services website, the staff can “critique your resume, conduct a practice interview or meet with you to strategize on the best resources to meet your goals. The center also hosts employers conducting interviews for full-time and summer jobs.”
Those interested in taking advantage of the resources should get in contact with Career Services at 307-766-2398 or uwcacs@uwyo.edu in order to receive log-in information for the eRecruiting system.
Another resource is the Peter M. and Paula Green Johnson Career Center. The difference, though, is the Johnson Career Center is geared more towards assisting College of Business students with career planning.
According to the College of Business website, “business career planning is an ongoing process, and the JCC is committed to working with you to develop a practical road map for you to follow in obtaining your career goals.”
JCC not only offers planning and preparation resources to College of Business students, it also works to help these students develop career management and self-marketing skills that will last for a lifetime.
Tools on JCC’s website include a link to UW2Career or eRecruiting where students can search for job postings submitted by employers who are seeking candidates from the University of Wyoming specifically.
Another resource on the website is a link to the National Association of Colleges and Employers Calculator, a website that gives students an idea of how much they could be making annually after graduation. Any business students interested in utilizing services from the JCC should contact 307-766-4807 or jcc@uwyo.edu.
