Foreverlin releases sophomore album “Still After”

Foreverlin started as a local band in Cheyenne and is now making radio singles that reach the Billboard Christian charts.

Foreverlin formed in January 2012 and was founded by Caleb Blomberg, guitarist and keyboardist of Foreverlin. In the beginning, Foreverlin played shows in Cheyenne at a venue called The Bananza and shortly after forming were picked up by Red Cord Records.

“I originally formed Foreverlin to become a more mature musician,” Caleb said. “I was always around metal, hardcore and punk style music and my favorite genre was always indie/rock.”

Caleb said that he wanted to explore and combine some of his favorite bands into his own songs.

Foreverlin started working on its first album “Long Lost” in the beginning of 2013 in Chicago. The album was released in April 2013 and had a single that had reached Billboard charts for five weeks. Foreverlin finished their sophomore album, “Still After,” and are having a CD release party at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site in Laramie.

Peter Blomberg, guitarist and vocalist of Foreverlin, said that the process of the first album felt a little rushed and that the band members were not entirely comfortable with their roles in the band.

“Now, two years later, we feel a lot more solid,” Peter said. “We had a clearer vision of what we wanted to create.”

Peter said what he enjoyed most about writing and recording “Still After” was that the band took his song ideas to another level.

“When I show the band a song,” Peter said, “I have a pretty good idea of where it is going and the general feel, but the guys really made each song come alive in new ways.”

Foreverlin has been able to go on tour with its first album and plan on touring for three weeks this summer with the new album.

“The best part of touring is meeting new people all over the country,” said Anthony Riedl, bassist and vocalist for Foreverlin. “It’s amazing; the stories you get to share with people and experiences you gain from getting to travel a lot.”

It is amazing that there are selfless people out there that are willing to do just about anything to help a group of guys in any way possible, said Riedl

Although the band members enjoy traveling to different places while on tour, they are also excited to be having their CD release in Laramie.

“I am most excited to hopefully promote and introduce a more steady music scene here for the city of Laramie,” said Burke Florom, drummer and vocalist for Foreverlin. “I just hope that we can establish that Laramie music culture is still alive.”

Florom said Foreverlin infuses modern rock sound with ambient vibes and pure tones that will cater to anyone and how they are feeling.

“We write music to serve the part of life we are in,” Florom said. “So certain songs feel darker if that is where we are at in life or some songs have more catchy hooks to provide a positive feel.”

Foreverlin will be playing a CD release show at the Territorial Prison at 7 p.m. Friday, where people can come and listen to the songs live and even get a free copy of Foreverlin’s CD “Still After.”

“We are very excited for people to hear our new songs,” Caleb said. “Along with this comes a radio single we will be releasing.”

Caleb said that Foreverlin is expecting the radio single to reach the top five charts in the Christian market.

“Our goal now as a band isn’t just to create great music that people want to hear, but more importantly we all want to give hope to people,” Caleb said.
