The tennis team will be young this season but is ready to learn.
“We have a lot of young talent on this team and are ready to start the process of learning our style of tennis,” Coach Dean Clower said.
Clara Mansart, a freshman from Paris, France, will be joining the Cowgirls this fall. She was recruited as a four-time top regional player of the year in France. Oleksandra Balaba, a freshman from Brovary, Ukraine, is new and ranked in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) 500 and as a national finalist in both singles and doubles. The final new Cowgirl is Zarah Mughal from Warrington, England. She was awarded two-time female tennis player of the year as well as being ranked 1817 in the ITF.
The rest of the team is composed of returning veterans. The only senior, junior transfer from Nebraska-Kearney Ana Royo, played for Wyoming in the 2018-19 season, ending the season with a 19-12 overall record and 16-15 in doubles.
The Cowgirls host the next tournament in Laramie starting today.
