Get ready to be on the chopping block, Cowboys.
With UW Pastry Chef Keefe Fillerup as the Cowboy Cooking Class’ guest chef for the week of Sept. 23-27, the cooking lessons took a step in a budget-friendly direction.
There were a record breaking 29 participants. Lena Newlin, assistant director of campus recreation, said the class was immersed into the experience of cooking.
They focused on high altitude meals and sourdough bread while learning to cook on a budget.
The Cowboy Cooking Classes will be a recurring event each month, and will have a rotating schedule according to residence life and dining services availability. The next class will take place Oct. 28 with Chef Matthew Branson. The class will focus on plant-based cooking for health sustainability. If interested in the classes, the registration information can be found on the University of Wyoming Wellness Center’s website.
