The Wyoming Cowboys will be facing off against the New Mexico Lobos to wrap up this week’s homecoming events. The 95th Wyoming Homecoming football game has a 1 p.m. kickoff time tomorrow and fans are expected to wear a “gold rush” of UW apparel for the occasion.

“We are certainly excited to play the New Mexico Lobos. It is homecoming and should be great weather, so I encourage fans to come out and support these Cowboys,” Cowboys coach, Craig Bohl announced at the conference leading up to the game on Saturday.

The Lobos are 2-4 on the season and 0-2 in conference play, dropping their most recent game to Colorado State University (CSU) 21-35 last Sat. after failing to convert on third down and overcome penalty mistakes.

Their offense is lead by their quarterbacks, Tevaka Tuioti and Sheriron Jones. Sheriron was the starting quarterback in their last game against the CSU and threw for a total 89 yards with an interception in the fourth quarter. Tuioti is averaging 165 passing and 31.2 rushing yards per game.

“They play two different quarterbacks. Jones played against CSU and Tevaka is a guy we recruited…Both of them are excellent. They run the ball well. They can throw the ball,” Bohl said at the conference.

The Lobos, ranked third in the league for rushing behind Air Force and Wyoming, are averaging 219.5 rushing yards per game led by running back, Ahmari Davis, who is averaging 91.4 yards per game with four touchdowns.

The last time Wyoming faced the University of New Mexico, the Cowboys dominated the Lobos 31-3 for their final game of the season. In their fourth straight win, the offense racked up a total of 366 rushing yards, scoring four rushing touchdowns. They kept the Lobos to season low of 83 rushing yards, making it their best defensive game of the season in total yards allowed.

Both the offense and defense are looking to gain back some healthy players, but freshman Titus Swen is questionable to return as of right now and junior Logan Harris is still on concussion watch.

They are 41-26 for homecoming games at War memorial stadium and 46-45 overall.
