The Criminal Justice Club offers opportunities to members who want to receive more information regarding careers in the criminal justice path, or for those simply interested.

The club consists of a diverse group of students of around 25 members who are interested in learning more about the path of criminal justice.

“The goal is to build relationships with students in the department and find ways to get involved with agencies for job opportunities,” said President Kassondra Giacchino.

Giacchino said most students join because of the intriguing field trips, partnered with the fun and food available during the meetings.

The meetings for the club are held in UW’s Business Building, room 127. The last meeting of the semester was yesterday, however, the club will start up again in the spring semester.

“To join is simple, you just attend the meetings and say you want to join and come to the events we put on and participate in events and in club related things,” said Giacchino.

The club features an abundance of activities for its members. They promote different occupations within the criminal justice field as they host a variety of guest speakers.

Field trips, like their annual trip to a prison, can be educational opportunities and enjoyment for the members of the club. Networking opportunities and community service opportunities are also offered.

The Criminal Justice Club will host is a guest speaker for their last event of the semester on Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. They will be organizing more events next semester, including their big career fair that will host over 30 agencies.

The club is primarily for students who are pursuing a degree in criminal justice or show an interest in this subject. The Criminal Justice Club can be a great opportunity for students to meet and create new friendships with people who have similar interests in the criminal justice system.
