UW Rodeo has season opener in Chadron

Over the past weekend, UW Rodeo had a couple athletes shine in their events in the first collegiate rodeo in the Central Rocky Mountain Region in Chadron, NE.

Kenna McNeill placed first in goat tying with a time of 7.6 seconds. Kodey Hoss placed seventh with a time of 8.2 seconds. 

UW header Bodie Mattson wins with his Casper College heeling partner with a time of 5.7 seconds in the Team Roping. 

In Bareback Riding, Brice Patterson earned himself second place in the short go round with a score of 77 points. Drake Amundson was fourth place with 74 points and Donny Proffit placed fifth with 72 points.

In Steer Wrestling, Jacob Wang placed second with a time of 4.5 seconds, and Kaden Berger placed third with a close time of 4.6 seconds. 

Breakaway roping contestant Jordyn McNamee wins ninth place with a time of 3.8 seconds.

In Tie Down roping, Cameron Jensen placed fourth with his time being 10.4 seconds. Bodie Mattson placed sixth with 10.7 seconds and Parker Rowe with 11.8 seconds placed fifth. 

Bull Riding had no official scores and Barrel Racing was canceled due to arena conditions. 

The next college rodeo is in Sheridan, Wyoming on September 30 – October 2.
