Your football team earned our sincere respect during their visit to our little oasis in the high desert, here in Reno, Nev., on Saturday. As far as football games go, the contest between the University of Nevada and the University of Wyoming was a true classic. Anyone who loves football would gladly admit that the outcome could have easily gone either way. At the end of tonight’s game, a large contingent of Nevada students and Reno locals stood along the railings and applauded the Cowboys as they headed into the locker room. It was inspiring to see the genuine outpouring of hard earned admiration, and good sportsmanship.
After the game, I enjoyed meeting many of your loyal fans who the trip to Reno and I look forward to renewing those friendships when we visit Laramie next year. No matter how you say it (Nev-add-uh, Nev-ah-duh, Neviduh, N-Vee, “that place before California”) you folks are always welcome here in Nevada. Warm regards,
