Winter has officially descended upon Laramie, which means it’s time for skiing, snowboarding, and hot chocolate with friends.
In celebration of the winter season, the city of Laramie is set to put on its first Winterfest this weekend, Saturday, Feb. 15, and Sunday, Feb. 16. The event offers art workshops, live music, ice skating, and more throughout the weekend.
First up, on Feb. 15, attendees can expect a brewery pub crawl hosted by Bonds, Altitude, Black Tooth, and The Library from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., a Pole Mountain Shuffle Ski Race hosted by the Medicine Bow Nordic Association, and a slew of art workshops, including felting, charcuterie, and sustainable crafting.
Additionally, on Saturday at 6:30 p.m., Western AF will be hosting live music featuring artists like Riddy Arman, Kristina Murray, Jamie Wyatt, and more. The Deslondes will headline, and The Peculiar Patriots will close out the show.
Next, on Feb. 16, Winterfest will put on exciting events such as the Snow Dawg Fat Bike Race hosted by Laramie BikeNet, a Full Moon Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe hosted by Fast Haus, and a Holistic Healing Fair hosted by the Collective.
Art workshops will continue on Sunday, including Calming Collage and Coffee hosted by Rose Gardner and LPAC and a polymer clay window hangings tutorial hosted and taught by Mary Grace.
Free ice skating will be offered both days of the event from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 3510 E. Garfield St. Local food trucks will also be parked along First Street both days for attendees. Rocky Mountain Pie, Turo, Soda Pit, Queso Eats, and more will be offering their services.
